2020 Rhinoceros (Series I)

Featured in 1 oz silver, gold, platinum; signature obverse and mirrored-face reverse highlighting the horn. The third animal in the inaugural Big Five bullion series (Series I), launched at the 2020 World Money Fair in Berlin. It spotlights the critically endangered black rhino and supports conservation efforts via collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Trust. 

Obverse:

• Features a bold close-up portrait of a rhino, filling most of the field, with inscriptions “SOUTH AFRICA”, “BIG FIVE 2020”, and the South African coat of arms below.

Reverse:

• Displays the innovative bisected design, with two halves of a rhino’s face facing away from the center. When two coins are placed side by side, they form a full rhino face—doubling into a herd when multiple coins are aligned.
