The first Canadian Platinum Maple and along with Silver Maple Leafs were in 1988 after great sales on the Gold Maple Leaf series.
Platinum Maple Leafs have been offered in six weight denominations: 1/20 oz., 1/15 oz., 1/10 oz., 1/4 oz., 1/2 oz. and 1 oz. The oz coins are considered the most common of all the sizes.
