Styled after the famous gold Krugerrand, the silver Krugerrand was introduced in 2017 and has been enormously popular as a way to invest directly in silver. The 2017 Krugerrands are Premium Uncirculated coins containing 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and have a beautiful frosted design. They boast the 50-year anniversary privy mark on the reverse and come encapsulated, with SA Mint certificate, in a black leatherette pouch.

Born Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger, he was better known to a generation of Dutch-descended South African farmers as Oom Paul, or Uncle Paul, for his support of the Boer cause in South Africa during the Boer Wars with Great Britain. 50-year anniversary privy mark on the reverse

The antelope has featured on the reverse along with Kruger's effigy on the obverse since 1967 when the first Gold Krugerrands were issued. The Springbok antelope design comes from Coert Steynberg.
