1/2 oz, USA, 2000, Platinum(Proof) - American Eagle Platinum coin was first produced by the United States(US) in 1997.
Gold and Silver American Eagle bullion coins were produced in 1985 and released in 1986, the Platinum Eagle bullion coins were first minted in 1997. The proof platinum eagle coins are the only U.S. coins that alternate designs yearly on their reverse.
Four different weight denominations for American Eagle Platinum coins are produced; one-ounce (1oz, $100), half-ounce(1/2oz, $50), Quarter ounce(1/4oz, $25) and one-tenth(1/10 oz, $10).
