The 6P in gold of 1897 is one of the great rarities of South African coinage. A single unique specimen exists.
The piece was kept in the Royle Baldwin collection for approximately 70 years until 2006 and was tightly held until 2015, when it came up for public auction for the first time, selling for $329,000 at Heritage Auctions.
