King George V(1923-1936)

The first coinage issued by the Union of South Africa(established in 1910), was the King George V series.  The union of South Africa was formed after the amalgamation of four British colonies, namely the Cape, Natal, Transvaal and Orange River Colonies.

All King George V were minted in the Pretoria, at the Royal mint and are identical in size and value to those used in Britain.
