Silver Chinese Panda

The Chinese Silver Panda bullion is minted by the People’s Republic of China Mint. The Bullion design is changed yearly and minted in differrent different sizes and denominations(1kg, 12 troy oz, 5 troy oz, 150 grams, 1 troy ounce, 30 grams, 1/2 troy oz, 1/4 troy oz).  In 2016, the Panda switched to metric sizes. The 1 ounce(1 oz) coin was reduced to 30 grams and the 5-ounce(5 oz) was reduced to 150 grams. 

The first Silver Panda was issued in .900 pure Silver in 1983 and then made from .999 fine silver.  This Bullion coin honours the country's Panda Bear. 

The reverse features a detailed depiction of the oldest Chinese Taoist Temple in Beijing, the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest of the Temple of Heaven. Along with the temple’s image is the inscription “The People’s Republic of China”.

The obverse of the coin features the image of the precious panda bear, which changes each year.
